Finding the Egos in the Depths of European Culture
—Utopia and Democracy and the Future of East Asia Political Philosophy
Huang Yusheng
Abstract: Though globalization is the abstract intersection and collision of continents, from the beginning it has had a strong European color. Europe has brought the world colonialism and war on one hand and freedom, democracy and science on the other, which are also the most basic things in Europe. If calling the modern times the new era of globalization, then the fundamental symbol of this new era is the recognition and establishment of the concept of freedom and the principle of rights in human thought and culture. In this sense, the East Asian world is still in a state of "separated body and mind" and needs further in-depth enlightenment, and this task should be accomplished by China.
